I am Cindy Zou, a senior in high school. I have a strong passion for biomedical engineering. I am currently taking IBDP Higher Level Biology and Chemistry, which has provided me with a solid foundation. I have participated in prestigious programs at Stanford and Cornell. At The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, I am conducting research on ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene membranes in extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and preparing a paper. I also founded The ALS Assistant website and the Innovation and Design Club at school, demonstrating my leadership and making a positive impact.

Hi! I'm Sam Jiang from team QS-FMI. I'm a calm and easygoing person. In my free time, I love singing, producing music on software and learning traditional tea-making with my dad. I'm also passionate about physics and engineering, aiming to understand the world through an interdisciplinary and innovative approach. My leadership in school's VEX Robotics club and physics club has developed my teamwork and communication skills. I'm keen on hands-on learning, from building robot structures to doing experiments. Excited to work with iGEMers, I look forward to gaining new knowledge and skills and enjoying the process.

During the international IGCSE exams in May 2024, I received six A* grades and one A, including an A in biology and six A* scores in Chinese, mathematics, additional mathematics, physics, chemistry, and computer science. Additionally, I received an A* in Edexcel math for pure math (1, 2, 3, 4), mechanics (1), and statistics (1). I am currently studying A-level physics, chemistry, and biology courses. I got a band 7 on IELTS. In terms of experience, my IGCSE course has helped me acquire some Python programming knowledge. Participating in the FABO 2022 competition, I helped develop an electrical geothermal purifier that can be controlled from a smartphone.
