Nowadays, there are
lots of
agriculture
problems
all around the
world by over using the
pesticides and antibiotics.
While antibiotics offer many
benefits, overuse
leads to
bacterial resistance,
increased disease
susceptibility,
and wasted resources.
Our project focuses on the innovative
integration of
microneedle patch
technology and synthetic
biology
to enhance the
efficiency and precision
of antimicrobial
treatments
in agriculture.
Our
primary
goal is to develop a
sustainable, targeted
delivery
system for antimicrobial peptides
(AMPs) to reduce antibiotic
overuse, minimize environmental
contamination, and combat
antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
This approach combines
microneedles
for
localized drug delivery
with synthetic biology to
engineer
microorganisms that
produce
specific AMPs
tailored to fight
agricultural pathogens.
