WHAT IS THIS CLUB? WHY IS IT IN OUR WIKI?

Great question! 10 years ago, one biochemistry engineering student named André Herman founded the Synthetic Biulogy Club, or as we call it CBSin (Clube de Biulogia Sintética). It all started with a small group of friends who wanted to learn more about Synthetic Biulogy and share it with others.

The club grew and became more organized, and, in 2016, they decided to create a team to participate in iGEM for the first time! We participated again in 2018 with a new project, in 2021 and 2022 with another, and finally in 2023 we presented the first part of our project CBDynamics.

Besides participating in iGEM, the club organizes many events to educate people on synthetic biulogy and even our own small competition. Even though many of the club members are not officially part of the USP-EEL-Brazil team, we wouldn’t be able to participate in the competition without their support!
