You probably heard of Cannabidiol before, and know there’s a lot of stigma around the...

Which is really worrysome, because it is not a hallucinogic nor an addicticve compound, and it can be used for the treatment of many chronical conditions and improve peoples’s life quality!

Stigma aside, there’re many other complications with the “traditional” extraction from the plant

Many countries have laws that impede the production, commercialization and consumption of the plant

There are many kinds of Cannabis sativa, and they all produce different porcentages of cbd and thc, that have to constantly be checked!

Even slight changes in agricultural conditions such as duration of light exposure, temperature, soil conditions, nutrients available and water can severely impact the percentage of the final compounds synthesized by the plant!

It’s very hard to check quality control and have product consistency for the compound due to these inconsistencies! Which is a HUGE issue in the industry!!!

So, what did we do about it?

In 2024

For a better biomanufacturing, we had to OPTIMIZE our processes

We designed and constructed SILENCING AND OVEREXPRESSION CASSETES TARGETING KEY GENES involved in the biosynthesis pathway. These genetic modifications aim to ENHANCE THE ACCUMULATION of one of the primary precursors for CBDA FORMATION.

In addition to it, we performed a detailed study using a BIOREACTOR SYSTEM to fine-tune the growth conditions for yeast cells.

Furthermore, we conducted a comprehensive analysis of the KINETIC PARAMETERS OF THE FIVE KEY ENZIMES we modeled last year, allowing us to push the limits of production capacity and CREATE A MORE ROBUST AND HIGH-YIELD SYSTEM for CBDA production.
