With three other iGEM teams competing in Switzerland, we decided to continue the tradition of Swiss national iGEM meetups. During the whole weekend of September 7th and 8th 2024, the teams from ETH, EPFL, UNIL and UZH had the opportunity to get to know each other. The UZH team organized a scavenger hunt through Zurich. We divided all participants into groups and had them solve puzzles to find six locations in the city. In the end, all groups met at the final destination and then headed to the UZH Irchel campus for an evening of games, chats, and laughter.

The next day, each iGEM team had the opportunity to present their project to the other teams, who were free to ask questions and give feedback. This helped a lot to improve the final presentations and to see what was really relevant for curious listeners. The meetup ended with an aperitif before saying goodbye.

A lot of creativity went into planning the meetup, especially the scavenger hunt. Because this activity was so much fun, we decided to upload the riddles of the scavenger hunt as well as solutions to the locations to our wiki for anyone interested in exploring Zurich in an interactive way.
