Team Theme Sharing Lecture - Understanding Parkinson's Disease

Competition Promotion:

We provided students with detailed information about the iGEM competition and showcased the appeal of iGEM through official promotional videos. These activities not only spread knowledge of synthetic biology but also sparked a strong interest in science among the students.

Guest Speaker:

We plan to invite Professor Liu Hsin-Hsuan from the Department of Physical Therapy at Chung Shan Medical University as a guest speaker. Through this lecture, we hope to help students gain a deeper understanding of rehabilitation for Parkinson’s disease patients. This knowledge could also be applied when caring for family members in the future.

~To better understand the effectiveness of the lecture, we conducted a test before and after the session. Here are the results.

Education iGEM WEEK

We set up a booth at Chung Shan Medical University for two days. Our main goal was to introduce our team’s projects and provide an overview of synthetic biology. During these two days, we planned three short talks covering topics such as our team’s experimental projects, the HP project, and education in synthetic biology in specific time. We hope this helps everyone better understand us and iGEM.

Podcast

The lecture will focus on sharing information about Parkinson's disease, introduction of synthetic biology and the challenges encountered during the preparation for iGEM. Through our sharing, we aim to enhance public understanding of the disease and the iGEM competition.

YouTube Video

We will share the challenges we faced during our competition preparation and how we overcame them, aiming to assist future teams interested in participating.
