Attended CCiC

The CCiC (Conference of China iGEMer Community) is an annual event where iGEM teams from China gather to exchange ideas. The 2024 CCiC was hosted by Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, and our team actively participated. In July 2024, we traveled from Beijing to Suzhou for a four-day conference.

During the event, we showcased our project, presented an initial draft of our poster, and engaged in discussions with iGEM teams from across the country. We exchanged ideas on the programmable logic device module with ZJU-China, USTC-China, and SCU-China, whose innovative designs for the application of logic gates greatly inspired us.

2024 Beijing iGEMer Meeting

To receive suggestions from iGEMer peers to better improve our projects, on June 29, 2024, 8 iGEM teams from Beijing gathered together to exchange their projects. Our team attaches great importance to and actively participates in this exchange activity.

During the event, we presented our project, learned about other teams' projects, and discussed with them to refine the project details.

We received a set of questions. Some people asked if we would continue to develop other components after completing this component to achieve the effect of a "biocomputer". After careful reflection, we decided that this should not be our goal. Because biocomputing with current technology is very slow, there is no application value within our team's control.

Communicated with BNDS-China

On September 23rd, we invited the high school team BNDS-China to visit the UCAS campus for an idea exchange. During the meeting, we attentively listened to BNDS-China's project and introduced our project to them. We actively suggest improvements to each other. They suggest that we consider LANTERN’s application to the gut microbiota, as this is also a multiple-input, single-output scenario. This makes us strengthen the research and thinking about the application of the intestinal tract. As a high school team, BNDS-China demonstrated knowledge and understanding far beyond what we had at the same age. We were truly impressed by their accomplishments.
