Hello everyone! My name is Kelsey Zhang, and I am delighted to be a part of the iGEM Team. This is my first time participating in iGEM, and I am incredibly excited about it. I have a strong passion for synthetic biology and a deep curiosity to explore the world of biology.
In addition to my interest in biology, I also have a diverse range of hobbies and interests. I love collaborating with friends to solve problems and find innovative solutions. It brings me great joy to work together as a team and tackle challenges head-on.
Apart from my academic pursuits, I have a love for sports and creativity. I enjoy playing badminton, which allows me to stay active and competitive. In my free time, I find solace in creating comics, where I can express my imagination and artistic skills.
Moreover, I have a keen interest in languages. I am fluent in Chinese and English. Currently, I am enthusiastically learning French to further broaden my linguistic horizons.
I am thrilled to embark on this iGEM journey with my fellow teammates. I believe that our collective efforts and diverse perspectives will lead to remarkable achievements. Hello! I’m April Zou, a 10th-grade student. I’m the leader of HP group. It is a pleasure for me to participate the 2024 iGEM competition. This opportunity provides me an invaluable space to explore the theories and applications of biology, showing me the connection between knowledge and the real society, and how the kind of association actually benefits our lives. I hope I will contribute to our team with my own strengths.
Besides my personal interest for biology, I would like to try different hobbies in my spare time. Drawing is one of my biggest hobbies. Hello, my name is Irene Hu. I am a Grade 11 student . I have completed IGCSE biology courses and participated in many biology related laboratories. I am very interested in biology and plan to continue studying biology in university. In addition to biology, I am also very interested in sports and photography. My favorite sports are volleyball and table tennis. I have been studying volleyball for three years, but table tennis is my latest hobby. As for photography, I shot a micro film last year and have been to many cities to take photos of different local customs. This is my first time to participate in IGEM. I am looking forward to cooperating with my teammates and I hope to explore more professional knowledge.

Hi guys, I’m Xuyue (Leeway) Zhou, a team member from SZSAIS-Shenzhen. I’m so excited to participate in iGEM. During my iGEM journey, I have learned more about biology. Besides biology, I’m interested in neuroscience as well. Neuroscience is a subject that deals with humans and the whole universe. In my daily life, I love reading and watching movies. Recently, I have watched some films directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Furthermore, Albert Camus is my favorite author and because of him, I’m studying French by myself. In addition, I hope that I can explore more professionally via iGEM and cooperate with our members.

Hello! My name is Theo. I am quite enthusiastic about participating in this IGEM project because I am pretty interested in chemistry and biology. I often take up some science experiments in the laboratory of our school. Besides, I am a fan of playing basketball and cycling in my free time. Hi Guys, I’m Xinyi(Lavender) Che, from the SZSAIS-Shenzhen team. This is my first time participating iGEM. I am very interested in medicine, physiology, and the related humanities. I have had a brief understanding of obesity and wish to help resolve the biological and social problems caused by it. As for my hobbies, I play badminton, draw, play music, and do charity regularly. I usually go to the gym or play badminton in the afternoon. And I’ve held several charitable events in our school. I have also taken AP Drawing this year and practiced GuZheng frequently. I would like to mainly participate in the lab in iGEM. And I look forward to working with my teammates. Hope that we can gain in-depth perceptions of obesity and on-hand experience throughout the whole process of iGEM.

Hi, I’m Hanna Li, a Grade 11 student and a member of the 2024 iGEM team of the production and application of tagatose. I am keen with biology for the miraculous body coordination controlled by inner metabolism and outer interactions with the nature. I wish to work in medical careers, discovering more effective and universal treatments for severe diseases, and providing affordable cures to those in need. Additionally, I enjoy arts and music, and love creating work pieces by hands. In my spare time, I make handcrafts, go jogging, play the piano. Also, I’m learning Japanese and Korean now. I hope to harvest new friendships and gain more lab experiences with deeper biological knowledge from this special journey!

Hello! I'm Raven. It’s my honour to be engaged in iGEM, which provides me with the opportunity to step into the world of biology and exchange my opinions with excellent teammates. In my opinion, life is full of mysteries and there are countless secrets for us to explore. It is these unknowns that remind me of staying foolish and spark my interest in learning biology. Besides biology, I’m keen on outdoor activities, such as running and climbing mountains, which enables me to contact with nature and focus on the present. Ms. Zhi is the Primary PI of our team. She is responsible for the co-ordination and management of the whole team, including safety, fundraising and exterior communication.

Zhang Xiaoyu is an advisor.With the advancement of the 2024 iGEM competition, she gradually became familiar with his classmates and successfully fought alongside them. She is full of interest in synthetic biology, hoping that through our efforts, we can achieve the synthesis of everything, and express and realize complex biological mechanisms through synthetic biology. In this year's work, she has been committed to guiding the work of wet experiments, and she has a high degree of rigor and logic for the experiment.
