Synthesis and Ordering of Antifungal Peptides

The team sent the antifungal peptide sequences identified as potential candidates through the trained model using the NCBI database to GL Biochem (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. for in vitro synthesis. GL Biochem is the largest peptide production facility in China, and a total of 33 distinct peptide sequences were ordered from the company. Each peptide was accompanied by various quality assurance reports, including:

- High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis

- Mass spectrometry

- Synthesis reports

- Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)

- Infrared spectroscopy (IR)

- Ultraviolet spectroscopy (UV)

- Elemental analysis

- Moisture content analysis

- Amino acid analysis

These measures ensured sample purity and reliability for subsequent experiments.

Mice Purchase

The team purchased Kunming mice (KM) from Hunan Silaikejingda Experimental Animal Co., Ltd., with a total of 21 mice. Each experimental group consisted of 7 mice, with 5 used for experiments and 2 reserved as backup to mitigate risks associated with unexpected deaths during the trials.

The KM mice provided by the company were guaranteed to be raised and monitored in strict accordance with national standards for microbiological and parasitological quality control of laboratory mice and rats. The procurement process also adhered to international guidelines such as those from ICLAS, FELASA, and CRL to ensure the health and suitability of the mice for experiments.
