We are the SDU-Denmark team! As the name suggests, we are from Denmark. All of us are students at the University of Southern Denmark, specifically from the campus in the city of Odense, which is pinned on the map to the left. Odense is known for being a student town, where prospective students move to, specifically to pursue a higher education. It is also home to some fantastic spots, and we’re excited to share some of our favorites with you.

As a member of drylab, I helped design our plasmids and backup options, while also assisting in assembling plasmids and culturing cells in wetlab. For entrepreneurship, I scheduled our meetings with experts and handled most of the research and writing. The most memorable moments have been the funny lab incidents, like spilling LB powder everywhere. Overall, spending time with my teammates - both working and having fun - has been the highlight of iGEM for me.

I worked on coding for the wiki and helped design our team logo while also participating in planning and conducting lab experiments. Gaining hands-on experience in both the lab and the creative process of building the wiki has been the most enjoyable experience. Overall, the iGEM experience of tackling a real-world issue with our team has been incredibly fulfilling.

As a member of the drylab and wiki subteams, I mainly contributed to researching genes for drylab, writing financial considerations for entrepreneurship, and coding pages for the team wiki. I particularly enjoyed learning to code in HTML and CSS, which has become a passion of mine! Beyond the technical aspects, I had a great time collaborating with the team and getting to know everyone better.

I worked on many tasks, from designing plasmids in drylab to assembling them in the lab, as well as coding for the wiki, designing posters, and writing for entrepreneurship. The most enjoyable aspects have been creating drawings for presentations and growing cells in the lab. The NiC conference was a major highlight; hearing about other projects and presenting ours was incredibly fun.
