Safety

The safety is one of the key focuses of our project and an important guarantee for the smooth progress of project. In our experimental process this year, we attached great importance in safety issue and conducted an in-depth analysis of potential safety hazards related to our project. Especially, we focused on the safe use of experimental instruments, safe handling of biological samples, and routine laboratory safety inspections, fulfilling our commitment to "designing, conducting, and ending experimental projects responsibly".

1) The bacteria used is in the group 2, which present low risk to human safety and environment.

2) The genes used are in the white list.

3) All of the materials involved in this project come with detailed guidelines for storage, transport, and use.

Our institution has a strict laboratory safety protection system especially for biochemistry experiment.

1) Safety Rules and protection device

Our school and labs have established strict safety regulations and operating standards, and are equipped with comprehensive security devices for experiment and possible risk handling.

2) Training

To gain access to the lab, newcomers must participate in in-person training sessions. These sessions cover basic lab protocols, safe chemical handling, and biosafety education, among others.

3) Lab safety protocol

Additionally, we have a robust lab safety protocol in place. The person entering and leaving the lab last is entrusted with safety oversight and has duties such as:

-Requiring at least two students to be present to supervise the students who are operating.

-Cleaning the lab counters.

-Monitoring the lab's water and electricity.

-Properly disposing of biological waste according to guidelines.

-Recording security logs every day.
