Questionnaire

loading

Conducting a questionnaire survey helps us understand the public's views and needs regarding gastrointestinal health, IBD, and our project. This enables us to better design and implement Human Practice activities and conduct experiments more effectively. Our questionnaire process was roughly divided into several steps.

Flow graph of our survey

Initially, we designed 26 questions, and a student responsible for illustration created a poster to attract more respondents. To incentivize participation, we offered a 30 USD reward for completion.

After finalizing the questionnaire content, we discussed its rigor and relevance with the wet lab team, making three rounds of revisions before release. Every team member was mobilized to share the questionnaire poster, leading to unexpected results through both social media and offline interactions. Subsequently, the results were analyzed jointly with the dry lab team, leading to the identification of key insights.

This preliminary survey, based on 434 responses from 28 cities, yielded 409 valid questionnaires post-validation. The comprehensive questionnaire report, spanning over 4400+ words and featuring 50+ charts, included cross-analyses focusing on gender, age, and industry-related differences. Such analyses will inform the design of targeted Human Practice activities. This survey will serve as a crucial reference for our future Human Practice endeavors, particularly as we aim to expand our reach to overseas regions and areas with high IBD incidence rates.
