Collaboration

Introduction

The "Biosyn Bridge" project aims to advance synthetic biology education through global collaboration by establishing a comprehensive educational platform. We work closely with partners from various fields to support different aspects of the project, including website development, interactive game creation, and professional educational video production. The HUST team from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, the HiZJU-China team from Zhejiang University, and the SCU-China team have made significant contributions to website technology and content creation. The interactive game developed by ARCST further enhances user engagement, while we also collaborated independently with Professor Javier Pimentel from El Salvador to produce a series of educational videos on sulforaphane. These collaborations have enriched our educational resources, enhanced public understanding and engagement with synthetic biology and related health sciences, and expanded the global impact of the project.

Biosyn Bridge Project

Website Development and Synthetic Biology Education

Partners and Contributions

  • Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST): Provided technical support and platform architecture to ensure the website's stability and usability.
  • Zhejiang Univesrsity (HiZJU-China): Created and uploaded educational videos on gene editing technology, which became core educational content on the platform.
  • Sichuan University (SCU-China): Contributed promotional videos that effectively increased the platform's visibility and traffic.

Outcomes and Impact

  • Platform Development: With technical support from HUST, we successfully established a multifunctional, open-source website integrating various resources in synthetic biology, such as educational articles, interactive content, and teaching videos, providing a rich and accessible learning environment for global users.
  • Content Enrichment: The gene editing videos from HiZJU-China offered professional and comprehensible educational content, attracting many users interested in biotechnology. Additionally, SCU-China's promotional videos increased the platform's visibility and generated broader public interest.
  • User Feedback and Growth: Since its launch, the platform has attracted a large number of users from various regions. User feedback highlights the platform’s interactive and educational qualities, particularly praising the presentation of scientific content and the diversity of information. We plan to introduce more features and content to further enhance user experience.

Interactive Game Development

Partners and Contributions:

  • ARCST (Andrean Road Countries for Science and Technology): Developed and provided the interactive game "Biopochito," which is showcased on our platform.

Outcomes and Impact:

  • Interactive Learning Experience: The "Biopochito" game, developed by ARCST, creatively integrates basic synthetic biology concepts, allowing users to learn scientific knowledge through an engaging gameplay experience.
  • Global Exposure:The game has been widely showcased on our platform and will receive dedicated exhibition opportunities during the iGEM Jamboree, further enhancing the platform’s international impact and user engagement.
  • Cross-Cultural Collaboration: Collaborating with ARCST, we leveraged their extensive network and platform to promote our project across educational and research institutions in multiple countries, broadening the platform’s global reach.
