We are a group of 17 high school students passionate about biology, and this year, we formed the iGEM team BGI-MammothEdu-East(5217). Our project, Scentinel: Fragrance for Empowerment, leverages synthetic biology to empower visually impaired women by helping them manage their menstrual cycles using bioengineered fragrance compounds.

My name is Alyse, a Grade 11 student. I'm keen on synthetic biology and aspire to study deeper in biological science. In IGEM, I'll participate in both the HP and wet lab aspects, hoping this experience will thoroughly enhance my creativity and scientific literacy.

HI!! I am Crystal from Vanke School Pudong, I am interested in skiing, fencing, rowing,playing french horn and etc. I also love biology, keen to explore something new. During the igem, I am mainly responsible for the wet lab part.

My name is Chen Quqing, 15 years old. I come from Soong Ching Ling School in Shanghai. I like playing football and playing piano.

Ziling Xu

My name is Zillion from Vanke Bilingual School in Minhang District, Shanghai. I am interested in piano, travel,calligraphy, rowing, and etc. Particularly, I have an enthusiasm for biology. Within the iGEM project, I take charge of the experimental section.

I'm Grace from WFLA. I'm 15 years old and enjoy playing tennis, drawing, and drama. Meanwhile, I am passionate about biology and eager to engage in profound academic explorations with all of you. Within the iGEM competition, I primarily take charge of the human practices section.

I'm Vicky, a bio/business slash girl. In various biology competitions and science research projects I gained experience in doing experiments and self studied college-level biological textbooks. I’m also a business enthusiast who loves to participate in business competitions.

Yang Lu

Hello, I'm Bryan from Pudong Vanke. I love golf, football, biology and so on. I am in charge of wet lab and hope to cooperate with you more.

Yiming Zhang

I'm Yiming(Jerry) Zhang. I'm taking education in High School Affiliated to Fudan University, China. Being an outgoing adolescent, I have many hobbies such as soccer and snooker. As a person fund of doing experiments in lab, I have a dream of becoming a biochemical engineer who can devote myself to the study of biology. I am mainly responsible for Wetlab and HP in our IGEM project.

Yinuo Lou

I'm Lou Yino, from Vanke Bilingual School, and I'm 16 years old. My hobbies include playing the piano, reading, rowing, among others. Additionally, I have a great interest in biology, chemistry, and mathematics. Within the iGEM competition, I primarily focus on the wet lab section.

Siyu Deng

My name is Deng Siyu, a senior one student in the High School Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Despite of learning knowledge and developing extra practice, I also learned to challenge myself in competition. Biology is my favorite hobby.

My name is Ethan, from DeYingYue, with a keen interest in anime and a profound passion for biology. Within the iGEM competition, I am dedicated to the wet lab sector .

Chunxi Du

My name is Daisy. Now I am working on HP in the IGEM team. My hobbies include collecting ancient coins and minerals. I'm also curious about biology and found that biology is ubiquitous in many small things in life, such as the production of perfume and essential oils.

Xiaotang Shi

Hi! I'm Candy in Grade 10. My passions include biology (especially the animal kingdom) as well as sports like football, frisbee , skiing, and rowing.In the IGEM project, I take charge of wiki aspects.

Yunjia Zhang

I'm Mark from Hamilton Boys' High School in New Zealand. Being a devoted fan of Harry Potter, I am into playing squash and tinkering with microscopes. My dream is to become a biochemical engineer who can change the world. I undertake Wetlab and HP in our project.

Shanjin Zhang

My name is Kingsley from Vanke Bilingual School, and I'm 15 years old. My hobbies include chemistry experiments, playing the guitar, cycling, and mountain climbing. In iGEM, I primarily focus on the wet lab aspects.

Liyu Zhang

Hi, I am Katherine from Shenzhen College of International Education. I’m fifteen and I enjoy diving and writing. I also have a passion for anthropology and a keen interest in history and biology. In iGEM, I am mainly responsible for the Human Practices (HP) section.

Wanjun Chen

PhD in Zoology, graduated from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences with many years of research experience. He has led and participated in several national-level research projects. As the first author or co-author, he has published more than 10 scientific papers.

Yu Zhang

Ph.D., associate researcher of biotechnology at BGI Research Institute, mainly engaged in research on the efficient production of high value-added natural products by microbial cell factories based on microbial metabolic engineering and synthetic biology technology.

Qing Kong

Hi! I am Qing Kong, the secondary PI of BGI-MammothEdu-East! I'm really glad to grow together with all the iGEMers, and hope all of us will have a good time while developing our project!

Qiao Guo

Guo Qiao, a bioinformatics analyst, serves as the secondary for BGI-MammothEdu-East.

Xu Wang

One of the core members of our team is Wang Xu, currently pursuing a PhD at Tsinghua University. He specializes in guiding the team in modeling and data analysis. His in-depth research in data processing and model optimization has provided critical support for the scientific accuracy of our project, ensuring that we can extract meaningful insights from experimental data and advance the technical aspects of the project.

Xiaojuan Wan

Former Assistant Researcher at Shenzhen BGI Research – Development and Application of Plant Genome Editing Technology. Responsible for establishing efficient tissue culture systems and genetic transformation systems for plants such as orchids and cucurbits. Developed plant genetic transformation technology based on Agrobacterium-mediated transformation and yeast chassis genetic transformation technology, and explored bioluminescence pathways, successfully creating stable, heritable self-luminous plants and other luminous organisms. Published 2 SCI papers and applied for 1 invention patent. Currently employed at the Mammoth Foundation as a Senior Education Specialist, responsible for developing molecular biology-related experimental courses for advanced research laboratories and serving as a project mentor for the iGEM International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition. Mingsheng Zheng

Educate students on designing, coding and optimizing web pages, checking to ensure that page layouts are appropriate and content is clear, and guiding students to optimize user experience and responsiveness.
