The UMA-MALAGA team is composed of members from various academic disciplines, including the degrees offered by the University of Málaga in Biology, Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Translation and Interpretation, Psychology and Software Engineering. At UMA-MALAGA we are committed to multidisciplinarity, since diversity drives innovation and allows us to comprehensively and efficiently address the multiple tasks and challenges that arise in the development of an iGEM project. In addition, we have instructors who participated in the iGEM competition in the 2022 edition with the project StarchSTEM contributing their experience and knowledge. Finally, the team also includes Principal Investigators (PI's), who play a crucial role in overseeing and guiding the project.

Inspired by renowned institutions such as the Santa Fe Institute, we unite a diverse team of students from multiple disciplines to face complex challenges. By combining our distinct perspectives and specialized knowledge, we foster a collaborative environment where innovation and creative problem-solving thrive.
