This is my second year on the iGEM team, and I’ve learned so much while being on the team. iGEM has helped me discover my joy for STEM, and I am looking forward to being at the Jamboree in October!
I am a grade eleven student at Catholic Central High School and this is my second year on the LethHS iGEM team. iGEM has been an amazing experience over the last few years. I have learned so much about the importance of teamwork and how to do rewarding research. Can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings!
I am a highschool student going into my grade 12 year and this was the first year I did iGEM. I am happy to say I have had a great time learning lots of new things and am thoroughly impressed with the team and what we have accomplished. I enjoy contributing to the team and am very excited for what's to come.
This is my second and last year on the High School iGEM team. I graduated this spring, and will be starting my studies in chemistry and finance at the U of L in the fall. I’ve learned a lot from iGEM, and I’m very glad I was given the opportunity to participate.

My name is Elyse Burgess. I am currently in grade eleven at Lethbridge Collegiate Institute. This is my first year doing iGEM and it has shown me a lot more of the STEM fields at the U of L. I have also enjoyed doing some of the lab work that we don’t do in high school. I am very excited to be presenting in Paris this year.
Hi Everyone! I’ve been a part of iGEM since grade 10, and this is my last year on the team. Over the last three years, I have loved learning about all the various aspects of iGEM such as synthetic bio, engineering, and business, and I’ve met some amazing people! It’s been an amazing ride and one I’ll definitely miss! As I leave for university, I wish the team good luck for the jamboree this year and leave my best wishes for the teams of future years!
My name is Nora Laird and I am in eleventh grade. This is my first year on the Lethbridge High School iGEM team, and I couldn’t be more happy to be a part of this experience. I love iGEM because it has allowed me to go beyond textbooks to learn about science through hands-on lab work in a collaborative teamwork setting. I am excited to be traveling to the Jamboree to proudly represent our prairie town in Canada on a global scale.
Hi everyone! This is my third and final year on the Lethbridge High School iGEM team and I can’t believe how much fun it’s been! I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to learn about the various different aspects of iGEM and to meet all my lovely team members. I just recently graduated from high school and will now be going into engineering at the University of Alberta.
Hi I’m Dana! I am a grade eleven student at chinook high school. This was my first year in iGEM and hopefully the first of many more! I have loved my experience so far and I have learned so much. From laboratory procedures to engineering the knowledge I have and continue to gain is mind blowing. Being a part of iGEM has been extraordinary and I can’t imagine what it would be like if I hadn’t walked into that interview room. Im looking forward to joining again next year!

Hello my name is Carlos. I am a grade 12 student attending Chinook High School. This is my first year participating in the Igem competition. I have learned a lot about synthetic biology and engineering this year thanks to the project we are doing this year, as well as meeting many smart and amazing people. I can wait till we go to Paris for the Jamboree and I get so see everyones projects.
