We, LCG-China, are an iGEM team of high school students from around the world. Our mission is to modify bacterial cellulose, enhancing its functionality and exploring its commercial applications. Alongside this, we are deeply engaged in exploring the ethical implications of AI use in synthetic biology. Throughout this journey, each team member shines in their area of expertise.
Our biology enthusiasts immerse themselves in research, writing, and experiments to prove the feasibility of bacterial cellulose modification. Those with a passion for business brainstorm innovative ways to commercialize these modifications, while our coding and art specialists develop creative solutions, culminating in the design of our final Wiki presentation. Recognizing the rapid advancement of AI, we have also committed ourselves to addressing AI safety in synthetic biology. AI safety not only impacts human security but also raises profound questions about ethics and morality. Through close collaboration, the exchange of ideas, and interdisciplinary discovery, we have become a tightly bonded team. More than just a team, we are a blazing fire, driving our project forward with passion and dedication.
Throughout this project, we have received invaluable guidance from our coaching team and gained profound insights from external sources. Engaging in in-depth discussions with experts from diverse fields has allowed our project to transcend the boundaries of synthetic biology, sparking exploration into philosophy, ethics, and business. We are incredibly grateful to our coaching team and external advisors for their unwavering support!
