Sharing experience in producing our first science drama

1. Theme determination


It was centered around synthetic biology, with a focus on gene editing technology.

2. Target audience


In order to adapt to different age groups, we created different versions of scripts for different audiences to perform. There are the toddlers version, the high school students version, and the audults version respectively. We translated and uploaded the most academic one - the high school students version.

3. Script creation


Firstly, Leyan Cheng wrote the drafts of these three script in Chinese. Then Jiakai Chen, Muya Zhang, and Lingqi Zhou proofreaded, translated, and proofreaded and so on.

4. Picture production


Leyan Cheng drew character images and created animations using the Movabletype Engine

5. Sound recording & Video production


Due to unsatisfactory machine dubbing, we decided to perform voice dubbing, with Jiakai Chen , Lingqi Zhou, and Yuhong Ge recording the dubbing.

Video was edited by Muya Zhang.

6. Usage Scenarios


Popularize synthetic biology knowledge to the whole society, especially young students who are future controllers. Make more people aware of the importance of synthetic biology, and even involving them, which can further expand the impact of biology.
