Contribution

Although this is the first time that Fenghua High School has participated in an iGEM competition, we have contributed to iGEMers internally and externally as follows:

For internal iGEMers:

  • Having successfully configured the software for video production, webpage creation, and the instrumentation essential for genetic engineering experiments, our subsequent team will greatly benefit from the time saved in these crucial areas.
  • Our existing iGEMers, proficient in our protocols for tobacco callus induction, plant regeneration, plasmid manipulation, and cell-free protein expression, will enable our subsequent team to significantly benefit from the time saved in these vital processes.
  • The hardware design component of our basic fluorometer is nearly complete.
  • The experiences we have garnered over the past several months in team building, cooperation, communication, and writing endeavors will undoubtedly prove advantageous for our upcoming iGEM endeavors.

    • For external iGEMers:

  • We have provided science drama scripts, tailored for individuals with diverse biological backgrounds, in the Chinese language. These scripts can effectively contribute to the popularization of scientific activities across China.
  • We have shared our hardware design for our straightforward florometer with any team interested in developing one as a rapid starting point.
  • We are eager to share our experiences with any iGEM teams, especially high school iGEMers in China.
