Team
I’m William(Chinese name 朱澍言). I’m from Wuhan, China and I’m 16 this year. I study
in WHBC which is Wuhan Britain China School for short. I’m pretty into sports, went for a
lot of sports in my younger days such as, basketball, swimming, badminton, archery,
chess(i know you have doubts on this one, but it’s actually a kind of sport, believe it), and
soccer. Usually, when I’m chilling around, i tend to watch videos, ranging from topics like
sports to biology. I consider myself as a funny, easy-going person so feel free to talk to
me about anything( as long as i know what you’re talking about, LOL). I hope that I can
develop a great relation with you guys in the following weeks. And here is my awkward
picture.
I am an 11th-grade high school student from Beijing named Yu Qiancheng. Besides
biology, my interest is in history, especially for the part of the Chinese ancient history and
modern Chinese history. Thanks to my interest, I can read Chinese ancient texts, which
enables me to read a wider range of books. This would bring me a strong humanistic
background.
My name is Yuqiu Zhou. I'm fifteen years old and I'm from YiYe-Wuhan. My biggest hobby is playing the
piano.I have got a certificate of GMT 10,and I'm still making a lot of
progress. I have great passion in biology. For me,it's lucky to participate in iGEM,this gives me a
chance to join the world's biggest synthetic biology competition and do our own research. I will try my
best to keep learning and use knowledge to benefit others better in the future.
I’m Eric feng, a middle schooler. I am currently 14 years old, and is currently studying at
basis international Shenzhen. In breif, I am introverted, and I normally never talk to
anyone, and thats why i love biology so much. Even though it wont talk to me as how a
real person does, the complex mechanisms involved in the different concepts of biology
is highly attractive to me. Just like my friend, I normally spend hours studying about it. I
also like volleyball, it also is an important part of me because I like the feeling of slowly
mastering something, and actually cooperate with my teammates (even if I’m introverted).
My passion of learning and sports not only stop there, but I also like subjects like Physics
and Maths; and sports like frisbee and snooker(pool). I’m happy to make friends with
anyone who is willing to share their thoughts to me. Always remain passionate ( to
anything)!
Hello, everyone! My name is Sunny, Tao Yiming. I'm currently a ninth-grade student at
Basis International School in Wuhan. When I'm not in school, I love playing tennis and
exploring academic subjects that really interest me. I believe life is all about growth and
learning, and I get so much joy from challenging myself. That's why I'm especially
passionate about sports, and to be part of the iGEM competition. It's a fantastic chance
for me to expand my knowledge in the field of biology and show what I'm capable of!
Hello, my name is Yang Yuhan, and you can also call me Yasmine. Now I’m a Y11
student from a beautiful and pleasant city Chengdu. I have a passion for biology,
volleyball, dancing, listening to music, and drawing. I find biology fascinating because it
allows me to explore the complexities of life. Even though there are plenty of obstacles, it
will make me more curiosities to find out. Moreover playing volleyball not only keeps me
active but also teaches me teamwork and strategy. Besides dancing and music are my
creative outlets, where I can express myself freely. Through these interests, I
continuously learn and grow, both academically and personally.
My name is Hayden Li, a new senior school student from Cogdel Cranleigh High School
Wuhan. What made me decide to participate in the IGEM competition was that I wanted
to explore how to fight against cancer, because my dear grandparents are both die of it.
And in the process of preparing for the competition, I really learned a lot, but also let me
know the importance of teamwork, we have obtained very satisfactory research results. I
hope our efforts will help more people understand the value of synthetic biology!
I am Harry M, a quasi high school Sophomore from Beijing Huijia Private School. Though
I am only 15 years old, I have already spent 5 years of this 15 years being a large fan of
Badminton and even becoming the badminton varsity captain within the past two years.
At the same time, I am responsible for the position of captain in team Yiye-Wuhan. The
subject of Biology is the most prospective and probe-worthy realm in the status quo, and
the Biology isn't only a knowledge to me, but also a legacy as to my mother's
pharmaceutical researching career. Despite the fact that I could only handle biological
knowledge from high school freshmen and middle school, I still hold the firm belief that
as our team dig deeper into our iGEM project, our interests and cognition toward the
biology subject would further escalate.
Hello! My name is Jiayu Yu, and I'm thrilled to sh Hello! From a young age, I've always been captivated
by the world of music and the mysteries of science. These two seemingly disparate passions have shaped
much of who I am today. Music has been a constant companion throughout my life. I find immense joy and
solace in singing, whether it's belting out my favorite songs in the comfort of my room or performing in
front of an audience. Singing allows me to express my emotions and connect with people in a profound
way. Alongside singing, I also play the piano. The intricate dance of my fingers across the keys is both
a challenge and a delight, offering a perfect balance of discipline and creativity. Playing the piano
not only enhances my musical skills but also provides a wonderful escape from the stresses of daily
life. On the academic front, my curiosity has always leaned towards the sciences, particularly biology
and medicine. This curiosity has grown into a deep-seated desire to contribute to the field of cancer
research. Cancer, a complex and often devastating disease, affects millions of lives worldwide. I am
driven by the hope of finding new ways to diagnose, treat, and ultimately cure this illness. My goal is
to pursue advanced studies and research in oncology, focusing on innovative therapies and cutting-edge
technologies that can make a real difference.
