Agenda: The team was introduced to its members for the first time. Additionally, Professor Lee introduced the team to Synechocystis sp. and the general process involved in the production of bioplastics.

Event: iGEM TED Talk Summit
Agenda: From 11 PM to 12:30 AM KST, the different club representatives from various schools partook in a group discussion with specific questions related to the SDGs and climate change. Representatives shared what their club or organization does and its relation to the SDGs, spreading awareness and getting to know each other better. Lastly, they were divided into two groups: one creating a business proposal about bioplastics and another building a proposed resolution about the achievement of SDG Goal #17: Partnership for the Goals in relation to SDG Goal #13: Climate Action.

Also, we individually planned what kind of Instagram posts we would be creating and officially started the Instagram project.

We also went through the Instagram Project of how it is working and the progress in general. Lastly, we finalized the Google survey that we were working on last meeting, and then the leader assigned the task of sharing the survey with at least 3 people to spread awareness and receive responses.

Also, there was an update about the interview with Julie Andersen as it was done before the meeting. Lastly, the team slowly started planning the SDG conference, setting up the agenda and main aim/topic of it.

The leader talked about how the in-person general meeting will work, focusing on finishing the individual Instagram project creation, cutting the pamphlets out, doing the in-person survey with the pamphlet distribution, and building ideas with the Children Center education and DIY Bioplastic Creation.

Agenda: The team went through the homework with building up the Instagram interactive activity and the children’s center education activity. The team also had a mini-check-up session with the Wiki first draft, checking the progress of everyone’s work. Lastly, there was a discussion session about the SDG Conference, finalizing an organized structure, and creating a team poster.

During the meeting, the team wrote out brief outlines of what content each section should include. By the next meeting, a refined first draft should be ready for feedback and editing.

Agenda: The team checked the homework and quickly moved over to sharing each individual member’s progress on their portion of the SDG page. During this process, all team members provided constructive feedback to one another, working to improve the content. Afterward, the team brainstormed potential ideas for the official team Instagram page. Ideas ranged from posts to spread awareness to public trivia and challenges.

Agenda: After checking the homework from our last meeting, the team shared each of their ideas on the Instagram posts. Once everyone had a chance to present their brainstormed ideas, the members voted their top choices. Because a reel to spread awareness regarding plastic pollution was voted on, a few of the other members took on the task of making a card news post to promote and accompany the reel.
