Ansh, a junior at Khan Lab School, is one-half of the KLS biology dream team. He enjoys cooking and horticulture - his garden takes up half his backyard (and most of his house!) After getting into biology at age 10, he continued to obsess over miscellaneous sciences; an interest that ultimately culminated in iGEM.
Proofnik sophomore Alyssa is part three of the two part KLS biology dream team. She unironically enjoys math and science - to the point that her high school, Proof, is themed around it - and considers them her “hobbies.” She joined the Khan Lab School iGEM troupe after emailing the entire team her resumé.
Khan Lab School junior Nick is the original catalyst for the never-ending shenanigans known as the KLS iGEM team. His hobbies include biology, music, cooking, and sometimes, school.”
A 9th grader, Zoya is an expert in the art of procrastination. She joined the iGEM team after mistakenly getting an email from Nick.
In snatches of time pulled from her admittedly very busy freshman schedule, Anandita is a jack-of-all(-iGEM)-trades. She also plays volleyball and has been known to paint. A beloved 6th grade teacher led her to join iGEM, a decision that has ultimately benefited the entire team.
Meilin, an 11th grader at Gunn High School, is maybe one of the few responsible people left on the team. In her (small amounts of) leisure time, she enjoys robotics (go VEX) and hanging out with her friends. She joined iGEM because of her love for biology.
Yuvraj, an 11th grader at Khan Lab School, worked mainly on the wiki and joined iGEM in 2023. Not too shockingly, his main interests include biology, web development, and data science. Outside of iGEM, he takes part in robotics and numerous side projects.
Through iGEM, fresh vegetable (don’t ask) Khushi has ascended to omnipresence - she somehow manages to do everything at once. In her free time, she enjoys exclamation marks and math. When asked why she joined iGEM, she responds, “I don’t know. It… looked cool?”
Allegedly a freshman, Aurovik is rarely seen without his distinctive camera. He’s interested in photography and the medical field as a whole. He signed up for iGEM in 2023 and hasn’t looked back since(it’s been one year).
Sameer of Freshtown (as with Khushi, don’t ask) is a crucial member of the team, although he’s often exhausted from gaming in the lab all day. Unsurprisingly, his hobbies include playing computer games, in addition to falconry, which is somehow related to biology. He joined our team because - in his words - “biology is funny.”
