Sabine Waigel
Sabine Waigel is the Assistant Director of the Genomics Training and Education Center (GTEC) at the
University of Louisville. She received her Dipl.-Ing. (FH) degree in Biotechnology from the FH
Gießen-Friedberg in Germany.
Robert Monsen
Robert Monsen is an assistant professor of medicine and the director of the Molecular Modeling Facility
at the UofL Health Brown Cancer Center. He obtained his PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics from
the University of Louisville School of Medicine.
Michael Martin
Michael Martin is a senior engineer at the Nano Technology Center. He has a B.S. in physics from Austin
Peay State University and a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Louisville in cell biology.
Kalina Andreeva-Stallard
Kalina Andreeva-Stallard is a dedicated laboratory researcher at the Genomics Training and Education
Core (GTEC) at the University of Louisville Brown Cancer Center. She earned her PhD in Molecular Biology
and Plant Genetics from Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg in Germany. With over 20 years of
diverse research experience spanning microbiology, molecular biology, neuroscience, and bioinformatics,
Kalina brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her work.
Scott Arico
Scott Arico is a science teacher at DuPont Manual High School. He has a MS in Applied Ecology from
Eastern Kentucky University and a MAT in Secondary Biology from Bellarmine University.

and hopes to apply his knowledge practically.

Kalp Poladia is a senior at duPont Manual High School. He has knowledge in biology from competitions as
well as lab experience. In the future, he hopes to apply his knowledge in the medical field.

Vishwaa is a sophomore at duPont Manual High School with experience in competitive biology and lab
techniques. He enjoys chess, tennis, and has a passion for coding and biology, aiming to apply these

Sree is a junior at duPont Manual High School. She enjoys biology and writing and aims to use this skill

James is a senior at Louisville Collegiate School. He enjoys soccer and running track as well as playing
the piano and eating delicious food. One day, he will go on to try to make his own company, creating

engineering and biology, and aims to help his team succeed and impact the world.
