In this project, we focus on the β-carotene synthesis pathway, optimize the synthesis pathway genes, combine the pathway genes from different sources, and construct the corresponding strains. We also quantified the β-carotene yield of the resulting strains to obtain the optimal combination of genes for constructing a high-yielding β-carotene Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S. cerevisiae) to aid in the commercial production of β-carotene. As a result, we offer the following new parts that have been designed, manufactured and functionally verified, as well as adding new functional data to some of the already existing components.
