Bronze Medal

Criterion Description Guide
Competition Deliverables We have completed our Wiki, Promotion Video, Presentation Video and Judging Form. The opportunity to participate in the offline Judging Session at the venue brings us great joy! Here is the link of our Promotion Video.
Project Attributions On the attribution page, we summarized each team member’s work content and contribution to our project. At the same time, we would like to thank all the people who have helped us with our project. Click here to get our attributions page.
Project Description This year, we have combined rhizobia with fish oil, enabling the chassis Sinorhizobium fredii to produce DHA and EPA which are key nutrients from fish oil. This has successfully turned S.fredii into factories for these valuable components, which can be further utilized. Click here to get more information of our project description.
Contribution Our project Nodule Factory has made innovative contributions in three aspects: wet lab, dry lab, and human practices. We would like providing assistance for future iGEM teams in areas of knowledge, tools and platforms. Click here to get our contribution page.

Silver Medal

Criterion Description Guide
Engineering Success We have completed the DBTL cycle in both the wet lab for experimental parts and the dry lab for model and software parts, with many areas undergoing multiple iterations to achieve and refine our objectives. Please visit our engineering page to review the DBTL cycle in wet lab and dry lab, and click here for related experimental results.
Human Practices Our human practice work is guided by the principle of Harmony. We engage in two-way exchanges of knowledge and ideas with diverse stakeholders, continuously collect feedback, improve our projects and strive for excellence. We also break down the knowledge barriers in synthetic biology, enabling everyone to participate in the field of science and promote a harmonious coexistence philosophy like that between nodules and soybeans. Learn about our Human Practices for detailed work. If you want to know how we implement our project in the real world, click here.

Gold Medal

Criterion Description Guide
Excellence in Synthetic Biology Best Parts Collection: We have logically and coherently collected a series of components that achieve a complete function, and it performs a useful and specific function for the community. In the future, it can be used as a mature nitrogen-oxygen dual signal-mediated production-regulation-suicide network. Please visit the parts page and the results page for more information.
Specializations Best Sustainable Development Impacts: Our work positively impacts the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2, 4, 8, 10, 12, and 17. Guided by the principle of Harmony, we strive to make a difference. We embody this philosophy by engaging in artistic and responsible practices that align with sustainable development, promoting the harmonious coexistence of society akin to the symbiotic relationship between nodule and soybeans. This is exemplified through initiatives such as designing sustainable clothing themed around nodule and organizing online art exhibitions.Best Software Tool: When encountering problems with the calculation of metabolic pathway products, we have developed a software that is user-friendly for non-programmers to calculate metabolic products. It can assist many teams focusing on metabolic pathways in both the present and the future with their calculations. The entire software content has been uploaded to GitHub and is open-source.
