Safety

To demonstrate the safety of biological experiments, a range of measures and standard practices are required to ensure the safety of laboratory personnel, public health, and the environment.

Here's how we do it:

1.We have a strict requirement to wear personal protective equipment before doing experiments. Including our lab coats, gloves, and pants, the girls tie up the hair to make sure it doesn't interfere with the process, outcome, and personal safety of the experiment.

2.we check everyone who comes into the lab. When the experimenters need to enter the laboratory, they need to sign the "experimental safety commitment" and can enter the laboratory only after the approval of the group leader.

3.Personnel unrelated to the work of the laboratory shall not enter the laboratory without authorization.

4.Activities unrelated to the experiment are prohibited in the laboratory, such as drinking water, eating food, playing games, etc. Food should not be placed in the laboratory refrigerator or freezer.

5.During the experiment, we will strictly abide by the operating procedures. Prior to the start of the experiment, each experimenter was trained to clearly understand the experimental procedure and master personal protection skills. Ensure laboratory personnel are aware of laboratory hazards and familiar with biosafety regulations.

6.When doing the experiment, we will strictly follow the experimental steps to ensure the safety of the experiment.

7.After each step of the experiment is completed, it is necessary to ensure that the experimental instrument is turned off, the biological waste is thrown into the correct trash can, and the experimental instrument is placed in a safe position.

8.The treatment of biological waste is also essential, we use disposable items such as gloves, hats, work supplies, masks, etc., need to be thrown into a special trash can, and then unified collection, professional personnel for professional treatment.

9.The principle of bio-waste treatment is that all infectious substances must be purified in a laboratory, treated with autoclaved sterilization, disinfected or incinerated, and then transferred to a specialized company for harmless treatment. Biological waste shall not be disposed of as general municipal solid waste.

10.The bacteria used in our experiment are all engineered bacteria, although it will not cause infection to people, but in order not to pollute the environment, it is necessary to autoclave the bacterial waste liquid and the container in contact with the bacteria or 84 disinfectant treatments. After disinfection, it will be recovered by recycling personnel. Contaminated and infectious waste must be pre-treated, such as autoclave disinfection, and then packed into special yellow garbage bags.

11.After the experimental work is completed, we will ensure that the experimental garbage will be thrown into the correct trash can. The last experimenter to leave must check the switch of the experimental instrument and the doors and Windows of the entire laboratory, focusing on checking the water, electricity and gas routes to ensure that they are normal and no leakage. Items are placed in a safe area, and no safety risks can be left.
