Hi! My name's Jack, Jack Gao if there are already other Jacks. I'm from Tianjin, China; but is currently attending a boarding high school in Colorado Springs, USA. I'm 15, turning 16 during the iGEM jamboree this year. I enjoy science and math related things - the reason why I'm in this competition! I'm not so good at sports, but I do play tennis and basketball and ski. I also draw a bit.
I love reading, and I prefer science books and magazines over fictional novels - Scientific American is one of my favorite magazines! I enjoy baking and gardening as well, although I once made fireworks in the microwave and plants die in my hands.
I hate mosquitoes like most other humans, so I love our project!

Hi there! My name is Emmy, and I'm an 11th grader at Shenzhen Middle School. In my free time, I really enjoy playing badminton and basketball. I also have a deep passion for painting and love exploring art exhibitions. Music is another big part of my life- I enjoy discovering new genres and playing my favorite songs on the piano. Dealing with mosquitoes has been a constant struggle for me since I was young, so I'm very excited about the AIS-China project, which aims to solve this problem by introducing a novel method. Hey yo. My name is Mia Chen. I live in Shenzhen, Guangdong. I'm a rising junior in BASIS International School Park Lane Harbour, with a strong interest in biology yet pursuing a major and career in clinical psychology. While my interest in psychology is stronger, I am still, quite honestly, talented and motivated in biology. I am very interested in biology, so I joined this iGEM team during this year when I couldn't attend any biology summer school. Conducting syn-bio experiments is a very unique experience for me. I really hope to study biology, chemistry, and other natural sciences such as environmental science in more detail, but sadly my time and energy are always limited. I also have other hobbies outside of my studies, such as hiking, swimming, and playing various musical intruments.
