As a team, UC IGEM decided that taking from and adding to the registry was of great importance to us. The idea behind the IGEM registry is to “Get, Give and Share” by contributing to an open - source database. We pulled from the registry with parts BBa_K1761005 (LgBiT) and BBa_K1761006 (SmBiT) and used those gene sequences to create our fusion proteins (see BBa_K1761005 and BBa_K1761006 experience pages). We then contributed back to the registry by submitting the gene sequences for our novel encapsul in subtype BBa_K5330019 and our two fusion proteins BBa_K5330020 and BBa_K5330021.
