Critical situation

There were close to 20 million new cases of cancer in the year 2022 (including nonmelanoma skin cancers) alongside 9.7 million deaths from cancer. The estimates suggest that approximately one in five men or women develop cancer in a lifetime, whereas around one in nine men and one in 12 women die from it, making it one of the leading causes of death globally, which underscores its status as a major unsolved medical challenge.

The immune system is a powerful tool for killing tumor cells, and immunotherapy has also been a landmark in the history of the human fight against cancer.

We designed a tumor-specific gene nanomedicine that can target a wide range of tumor cells, which is expressed only in tumor cells and enhances T-cells immune responses.

We associate the possibility of developing a tumor-specific genetic nanodrug using a specific promoter. This drug could specifically drive tumor cells to express anti-CD3 scFv and anti-CD86 scFv, while mobilizing tumor cells to secrete IL-2, a key cytokine to activate T-cells and enhance immunotherapy.

Upon successful transform of tumor cells, we anticipate a significant increase in the immunotherapy effect.
