Hi! I'm Yimang Xu, captain of team Peking, a junior student majoring in biology at School of Life Sciences of Peking University, and minoring in physics. As a captain, I partly contributed and determined the idea of team Peking's 2024 iGEM project, supervised the progress of our project, participated in some wet lab experiments and led some human practice and communication activities. To me, captain of Peking iGEM 2024 means responsibility, challenge, but more importantly, once-in-a-lifetime experience, unforgettable friendship and boardened horizons by witnessing the sparks burst out when biology meets the magic of math, physics and artificial intelligence.

Three years of biology olympiad learning endows me with a solid knowlege and a panorama of biology before I got to Peking University, thus allowing me to handle the learning of biology in university with ease, sparing me time to learn physics as a minor and helping me accommodate to the scientific rearch life in the biology lab.

As the captain of team Peking in this competition, I led my team to get a gold medal of the regular track, which proved our team's ability in making potential contributions to synthetic biology.
