We aim to synthesize E. coli with gene expression vectors, recombinant with
inflammatory priming factors,
adhesion factors, and
factors for the treatment of IBD.
Inflammatory bowel disease(IBD) is a chronic intestinal disease, known for its complex pathogenesis. Currently, it remain incurable and has a high prevalence worldwide, affecting an estimated 8 million people.
We aim to synthesize E. coli with gene expression vectors, recombinant with
inflammatory priming factors,
adhesion factors, and
factors for the treatment of IBD.
Our engineered bacteria, named iEraser, will adhere to the intestinal lining. They will continuously synthesize and
release anti-inflammatory factors
and adhesion factors to
alleviate inflammation.
We are a very creative team. We have carefully screened our active oxygen promoters, boldly designed our anti-inflammatory factors, and used artificially synthesized adhesion factors. Mathematical modeling and human practice are also full of creativity! We hope to make more interesting components and improve the experiments!
We are an iGEM team from China, and we are committed to using synthetic biology to find a way out for IBD patients.
